Art is a refuge. Whether I’m making a photograph or a painting, I strive to create a peaceful escape from the anxiety of a chaotic world.

From grand scenes as big as our Milky Way galaxy rising across the sky, to tiny details as small as the grains of pollen on a bee's legs, I use my art to write love letters to Earth. I hope my work helps you remember to slow down and enjoy the moment!

COASTAL CALIFORNIA

These are some of my favorite coastal images, mostly from the South Bay and Beach Cities region of L.A. County. Some are tranquil images of the ocean at various times of day while others capture the raw energy of the waves or the vibrance of a vivid sunset. Some feature surfers or beachgoers or manmade structures, including the piers and lifeguard towers (and the sole lighthouse) that grace the beaches of Los Angeles County. Some are color and some are black and white. You'll be sure to find something to suit your coastal decor needs!

IN THE GARDEN

Whether you're seeking a statement piece for your living room, a collection of florals to soothe the patients in your medical office, or a thoughtful gift for a loved one, this collection offers a blend of elegance and tranquility, with a color palette ranging from soft pastels to bold pops of color. Featured flowers include Dahlias, Sweet Peas, Cosmos, Roses, Lupine, and California Poppies, almost all photographed in my own garden before being cut and given away to the neighbors.

IN THE MOUNTAINS

I spent much of my childhood amongst the Giant Sequoias in California's Sierra Nevada mountains. Now I take my own children out to gaze at the stars, play in the creeks, marvel at the waterfalls, and sleep amongst the biggest trees in the world. The mountains speak to me in a way that nowhere else does. Chasing fall color in the Eastern Sierra is one of my favorite things to do every year, and this gallery features images from Mt. Whitney in the south to Lake Tahoe in the north, with many stops along the way, Yosemite National Park included. My astrophotography and Milky Way photos are in this gallery.

BIRDS, BEES, AND BUTTERFLIES

The magic of small things is so easily seen in birds, bees, and butterflies. I spend hours in the garden photographing the hummingbirds, songbirds, bees, and butterflies that visit our yard. I've also spent two years documenting the endangered El Segundo Blue butterfly and supporting habitat restoration efforts on city land as well as in my own yard. Along with flowers for bouquets, and herbs in my kitchen garden, I plant native flowers to bring the creatures to my yard!
